Ashcroft Indian Band is governed by a Chief, elected by a majority vote, along with two Councilors also elected by a majority vote of all the members of the Band. Each term of office goes for two years and the Chief or Councilors can be re-elected for as many terms as the members want. The election results reflect what the majority of members want so that elections do not look fixed and it is kept fair by letting all members having equal voting rights.
