Spectacular Scenery, Amazing Location and Services
The first episode the new “X-Files” and an Irish feature film called Tomato Red were both shot in the summer of 2015 on the sage brush covered hills of the Ashcroft reserve. Midas Muffler also recently choose the Ashcroft reserve as a location for a new commercial in 2016.

Film shoots are a money maker for the reserve. The Travel Centre services are also plus for crew members.

“The Ashcroft Indian Band and Thompson-Nicola Film Commission have successfully worked together for more than 15 years in its pursuit of filming on their lands, hiring residents and utilizing its infrastructure as film locations and resources. The desert terrain attracts the filmmakers’ eye resulting in TV series episodes, commercials, music videos and feature films filming on AIB roads, both paved and unpaved, the drag strip and open plateaus. The latest addition of the Travel Centre will realize positive economic impact year round from the film industry from filmmakers touring the area looking for locations to utilizing it as rallying points, parking, gas and other unique services such as the Trucker’s lounge.”
